Back from Beirut, down one piece of luggage. I will post some pictures whenever I get my camera back.
Read while gone:
So great. Really, so interesting. David Grann is such an amazing non-fiction writer. He has the ability to write all of his stories like mysteries, keeping you so engaged right up until the end. The Lost City of Z is pretty good too, but Grann’s strength definitely seems to lie in shorter pieces.
Also good. Thematically, a bit repetitive, and I say this as a person who like suburban ennui.
Good so far. The author has maybe inserted himself into the book a bit too much, but that’s hard to say yet. Looking forward to reading the rest of it.
Happy to be back, despite the luggage issue!
